Custom glass isn’t an off-the-shelf purchase, and knowing the sequence helps you plan your renovation properly.
Step 1 — Consultation and quote. We look at your opening, discuss framed versus frameless, hardware finishes, glass type (clear, low-iron, patterned, tinted) and give you a written estimate. This can often start from photos and rough dimensions.
Step 2 — Final measure. This happens after tile and stone are finished, never before. Bathrooms are rarely square, and walls out of plumb by even a quarter inch change how the glass is cut. Measuring early is the single most common cause of a panel that doesn’t fit.
Step 3 — Fabrication. Your glass is cut, tempered, and the holes and notches are made to your measurements. Tempered glass cannot be modified afterwards — not even a small trim — which is why Step 2 matters so much. Expect roughly two to four weeks depending on glass type and hardware availability.
Step 4 — Installation. Typically a few hours for a standard enclosure. We set the hardware, hang the glass, align the door, fit sweeps and seals, and silicone the joints.
Step 5 — Cure time. Leave the silicone to cure, usually 24 hours, before the first shower.
Planning tip: book your final measure the day your tile work wraps up. That way fabrication runs while the rest of your bathroom is being finished.
